Angela Pitt
Principal Psychologist
Angela works with children, adolescents and adults, and has a passion for helping
others to achieve their goals. She is experienced in providing individual therapy
both face-to-face and via telehealth/online. An advocate for early intervention,
prevention and personal development, Angela is particularly interested in fostering
resilience, emotional intelligence and self-advocacy skills.
Angela has worked with individuals presenting with a variety of concerns, such as
anxiety, depression, chronic pain, injury rehabilitation, body image and eating
problems, stress, workplace burnout, post-traumatic stress, interpersonal, sleep and
adjustment issues.
Angela is an accredited eating disorder clinician, a full member of the Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Association of Australian (EMDRAA) and is a
graduate of the University of Wollongong (UOW), Charles Sturt University (CSU) and
Western Sydney University.
Angela believes in a neuro-affirming approach and is capable of engaging a variety
of evidence-based treatment modalities to suit individual needs. Examples include
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioural
Therapy (DBT), Trauma-focused CBT, Cognitive Processing and Play therapy.
As a former serving member in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), Angela has
gained a thorough appreciation of the nature and challenges of military service on
individuals and their families. She has extensive experience in the treatment of
current ADF members, veterans, first responders and their families. Angela enjoys
working as part of a multidisciplinary team and supporting others whilst they
navigate life’s challenges.
Angela has an easy-going, calm nature and values authenticity, mindfulness and
trust. As a psychologist, she believes in maintaining a sense of acceptance, caring
and gratitude. Angela leads an active lifestyle and enjoys raising her own family in
the Kiama area.
